Prof. Dr. Hakan Teoman Yanar

He won the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver Colorado. He did his compulsory service in Isparta between 1995-1996 and his military service in April 2000. He completed his General Surgery residency in June 2001 with his thesis on "Scar tissue formation in colon anastomoses and the effect of lathyrogen drugs". Between 2006-2007, he worked at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Department of General Surgery, Los Angeles, USA. He mainly focused on laparoscopic treatment of oncological surgical cases, especially gastrointestinal diseases, stomach, colon and rectum cancers. It also has “Robotic Surgery” and “Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in Peritoneal Surface Malignancy” certificates. He is a member of the Turkish Society of Surgery, Hepato-Pancreato-Bilier Surgery Association, Istanbul Medical Chamber, a member of the board of the National Association of Trauma and Emergency Surgery and the National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, co-editor of the National Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, European Society of Trauma and He is Chairman of Emergency Surgery (ESTES) Emergency Section and Turkey delegate. 50 international and 20 national studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals. There are two international and 10 national book chapters. He has given national and international panel and symposium speeches, and has written and translated international and national book chapters. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2014. He is still serving at Istanbul Beşiktaş Liv Hospital Hospital.
