Opr. Dr. Taner İyigün

Although we live abroad and are insured there, my dad (Orhan T.) insisted to come back to Turkey for his heart operation. After extensive research around hospitals in Istanbul, we decided for MAE and specifically Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Iyigun and his team. Because my dad is retired from Turkey, he had social security covered so we received a random appointment from MHRS App. After showing our results during our appointment, the doctors in MAE required my dad to go through similar (or even same) tests/reviews also in their own hospital which took around 4 weeks to complete. Finally, their recommendation was exactly the same: CABG (bypass). Until that step, our experience was average. However, we decided to apply pre-surgery desk in order to proceed with the operation planning. As next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Iyigun got really assigned to my dad's operation! These assignments are made by the team in the hospital and isolated from patient's request, so we were super happy and again motivated to continue the rest of the procedure in MAE. Within another 3 weeks, my dad got successfully operated on April 10). We had an extremely positive experience since the check-in (one day before the operation) till my dad's release (5 nights after the operation) from the hospital. First and the most important is that my dad's operation was success and he recovered pretty rapidly. Secondly, the communication with us as well as my dad throughout the process was continuous and very straight (nothing in gray area). My dad got taken care very well. Even my mom (or myself) received meal based on who stayed with the daddy. Nurses were very helpful and careful although running on 24h shifts. We remain grateful every day to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Iyigun for leading such a great team and his gifted hands, Dr. Timuçin Aksu for his focus on each individual patient, Dr. Mehmet Ali Dala also for his gifted hands and super clean communication,Dr. Buse Agca for her care in post-surgery period, her communication, her understanding and caring attitude/empathy,as well as the intensive care nurse Bilgun, service nurse Zeynep (Block A, Floor 2, Hall D) and her counterpart (I apologize missing her name now).WHAT A TEAM! Thank you, all!On the flipside, cleaning material provided by the janitors is insufficient: One roll of toilet paper and one stack of hand-paper for the whole stay. Their dedication to work is also hard to observe. The management might consider auditing these personal and their stock.Overall, I really got the point why my dad insisted to have his operation in Turkey. He was right that turkish doctors/surgeons deliver the best result possible. Thank you, team!Sayin Doc. Dr. Taner Iyigun 10 Nisan 2023’te benim (Orhan T.) bypass operasyonuma liderlik etti ve 4 damara bypass uyguladi (plan 3 damar icindi). Kendisine ve ekibine ne kadar tesekkur etsem az kalir cunku uzerinden 8 gun gecmis olsa bile (bugun 18 Nisan) kendimi cok iyi hissediyorum. Yaralarim da cok iyi durumda. Kendileri ve ekibi ameliyat oncesinden taburcu anina dek cok ilgiliydiler, cok acik ve devamli iletisim sergilediler. Bu yaklasim bizim ameliyat oncesi guvenimizi yukseltti ve sonrasinda da hizli, seffaf ve net bilgi sahibi olmamizi sagladi. Genel olarak cok memnun ve tatmin olmus olarak tedavime devam ediyorum.
