Hair Transplant
Hair transplantation is a microsurgical procedure applied in a hospital setting. It is the process of placing the grafts taken from the donor area to the areas with hair loss. Hair transplantation is a successful treatment method for people who experience hair loss. This method is effectively applied both in completely balding areas and in areas with partial hair loss. It also provides solutions to problems such as scar tissue caused by burns and injuries. It is a particularly effective and long-lasting option for men with male pattern hair loss.
There are many techniques in hair transplantation:
- Classical FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
- Sapphire FUE (FUE with sapphire tip)
- DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) Hair Transplantation
Classical FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
The latest and most advanced technique used for hair transplantation is the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method. The feature of this method is that it leaves few scars and provides rapid recovery. Compared to traditional hair transplantation techniques, the methods used today have a much more advanced strategy. The procedure starts with anesthetizing the donor area with local anesthesia and then using a micromotor device, tissue pieces (grafts) containing single, double, triple or quadruple hair follicles are taken from the donor area. This process takes about 3-4 hours. The grafts are kept at room temperature in a liquid called Hyposol to prevent the hair follicles from dying. Hair follicles in hyposol can remain alive for up to 6 hours.
The area to be transplanted is anesthetized by applying local anesthesia and 3-4 mm deep channels are opened to reach the depth where the hair follicles will be placed. The collected roots are implanted into the opened channels. This process takes approximately 3-4 hours. After the hair transplantation process is completed, the donor area is covered with dressing and the procedure ends. It usually takes 12-18 months to see full results.
Sapphire FUE (FUE Made with Sapphire Tip)
Sapphire FUE hair transplantation method is a hair transplantation method using sapphire-tipped special tools produced from sapphire, a precious metal. Compared to the metal equipment used in the traditional method, it opens smaller micro-channels and provides minimal incrustation. The edema seen after the application is less. In addition, the healing process is fast due to the small size of the channels opened for sowing. Another advantage is that it can be planted more frequently than the metal slit method. As a result, a more natural appearance is obtained.
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) Hair Transplant
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) hair transplantation is a newer procedure than FUE. The DHI technique does not leave any traces after the procedure and provides a natural appearance, similar to the FUE technique. However, in this method, hair follicles are removed one by one using a specialist tool with a diameter of 1 mm or less. Then, the hair follicles are placed in an implant device called the Choi Implanter Pen and the procedure is performed by directly transplanting them into the recipient area. Channel creation and implantation are performed simultaneously during the DHI procedure. Choi Implanter Pen provides more precision to the specialist during the transplantation of hair follicles and the angle, direction and depth of the newly transplanted hair can be more easily controlled. The recovery time is similar to the FUE method, but the procedure takes longer than the FUE method.
Eyebrow Transplantation
Eyebrow transplantation can be used in people with thin eyebrows to correct structures that have deteriorated due to eyebrow injury, scar formation or incorrect eyebrow removal. It is suitable for both men and women, and local anesthesia is used during the procedure. Using the FUE technique, grafts are taken from the donor area and channels are opened to the planned area. The procedure takes about 3-4 hours and you can return to your normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Mustache - Beard Transplantation
Beard structure differs from person to person and this structure is determined depending on genetic factors. However, in some cases, hair loss in the beard area may occur due to genetic factors, scars, injuries and burns. In these cases, beard transplantation can be performed with the FUE method. Beard transplantation proceeds similarly to the procedures in eyebrow and hair transplantation. During the procedure, local anesthesia is used and hair follicles are taken one by one with the FUE technique, channels are opened in the planned area and hair follicles are placed. The procedure takes approximately 3-5 hours and is a very comfortable procedure for patients.
