The most beautiful journey that women can experience in life is undoubtedly the 9-month pregnancy process. Isn't it a miracle that babies who are the size of a lentil seed at first grow day by day in the mother's womb and are born at the end of 9 months? Despite all its beauties, the pregnancy process completely changes the hormones of the expectant mothers and also changes their physical appearance.

Physical changes that occur in women's bodies during pregnancy can regain their former form with regular sports and nutrition after birth. Regrettably, the physical change that takes a long time to heal after birth is cracks in the body. What should be done to prevent cracks in pregnancy, which is the fearful dream of women? Or what can be done to minimize crack formation?

Stretch Marks During Pregnancy

There are multiple reasons for the formation of stretch marks in the body during pregnancy. Among these reasons, there are skin dryness due to the baby's growing day by day, the swelling of the mother's belly, the weight gained, and the changes in the oil balance of the skin. Especially in expectant mothers who carry more than one baby, the excess weight gained by the mother with the growth of the babies in the last two months of pregnancy is the most obvious reason for the formation of stretch marks. Apart from these reasons, another important factor is the genetic structure of the body. If cracks occur in the body in cases of sudden weight gain and loss before pregnancy, cracks will most likely occur during pregnancy.

Obstetricians and dermatologists advise pregnant women to regularly apply creams and care oils on their bodies to prevent stretch marks. It must be admitted that the cosmetic care oils and creams used regularly to prevent the body from drying out are effective on the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy. Its effect is to reduce crack formation, but it is not effective in preventing it completely.

The biggest proof that creams and care oils, which are claimed to prevent the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy, are effective only in reducing stretch marks, is that the number of women who have stretch marks on their bodies is quite high despite using these creams while pregnant. The fact that the number of women who do not have even the slightest crack in their bodies even though they do not apply cream or care oil on their bodies during their pregnancy is an indication that this process is completely related to the body structure of the person.

The most effective method to minimize the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy is to regularly apply olive oil to maintain the moisture balance of the body. Olive oil softens the skin and prevents it from drying out, thus minimizing the formation of cracks. The smell of olive oil may bother some people. The use of avocado oil or coconut oil as an alternative to olive oil is also an effective method. In fact, it is not very important which care oil you use, the important thing is to keep the body moist on a regular basis.
