Obesity is a condition that occurs with excessive fat accumulation in the body and causes a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or more. A new study, titled 'The Body Mass Index of 1.9 million 12-20-year-olds and Stroke in Young Adulthood', published in the American Heart Journal, predicts that obesity among young people puts them at risk for stroke. Gilad Twig, one of the authors of the study, said: 'The results of our research emphasize that it is important to treat and prevent higher than normal and extremely high BMI in adolescence.' Mr. Gilad said, 'Looking at the results of our studies, it is the first study to reveal that the risk of stroke in people with a higher BMI is the same for both men and women.

Here are some tips for managing obesity among teens:

1- Always encourage physical activity: Too little or no physical activity can have negative consequences on people's overall health. It also allows for the development of health problems such as cardiovascular disease, muscle and bone problems, and obesity. To prevent this from happening, young people should be encouraged to follow a regular exercise program and participate in activities such as sports, meditation, walking and exercises.

2- Encourage a balanced diet: Teenagers often prefer ready-to-eat meals. However, excessive consumption of processed foods and sugar will lead to obesity and unhealthy weight gain. In order not to bring diseases closer to the body, a healthy and balanced diet is essential and young people should be encouraged.

3- Promote a healthy sleep cycle: Some studies have shown that the lack of healthy sleep may be linked to weight gain and obesity. In some American-based studies, 'Do people who get insufficient sleep become vulnerable to obesity?' They created this kind of study with the name and the effects of this situation against obesity, this situation has proven to be too important to ignore at all.
