Nausea is a feeling of discomfort and tightness in the upper part of the stomach and an involuntary urge to vomit. Nausea is sometimes followed by vomiting, which sometimes does not. Nausea occurs for a variety of reasons, including “migraines, dizziness, low blood sugar, food poisoning, pregnancy, use of certain medications, dizziness, mental disorder, and depression.” Most of those who experience morning sickness are pregnant women, especially in the first months of their pregnancy or during their pregnancy. This is because nausea is caused by excessive salivation or by smells, heat, and spicy foods. Treatment is by drinking ginger ale or sipping fluids and eating small amounts of food throughout the day.
