The Relationship between Nature and Human

  • The Relationship between Nature and Human

We share both similarities and differences with every living being in nature. Whether we are aware of it or not, we have a connection with the air we breathe and the soil we walk on. Our culture is influenced by our climate, and there are differences between people living in the mountains and those living by the coast. We influence and are influenced by our surroundings. The diet of a settled person differs from that of a nomadic person, which in turn affects our physical constitution, immunity, vitality, posture, speech, and many other aspects.

There is a certain order in both the macro and micro aspects of nature. If we can understand this, nature teaches us where and how to find healing. Since the existence of humanity, both health and illness have been present. Those who learned the cure and strengthened their immunity survived, while the weak ones were eliminated through natural selection. Every plant, animal, and mineral around us holds a healing power. When a human experiences an illness, they begin to pay attention and conduct research. Until then, they might not be aware of the connection they have with everything around them. Just like a rotten apple can transmit its rot to the one next to it, we also absorb healing or poison from our environment. People living in industrial areas may inhale toxic air, while asthma patients may find relief in pine forests.

The quest for healing has been ongoing throughout human history. Many physicians such as Lokman, Socrates, and Ibn Sina lived and passed on their experiences to students. These experiences were recorded and became part of the historical knowledge. Dr. Samuel Hahnemann from Germany observed the inadequacy of the medical system of his time. His proficiency in multiple languages and pharmaceutical education allowed him to design historical knowledge from the past into a new discipline. He established Homeopathy based on the principle "like cures like." His students and volunteers contributed to the development of this discipline, which continues to exist today.

The principle "like cures like" reminds me of the saying "from the dam to the stream" in our context. If I can find something similar to myself in nature, then I can also find my cure. In simpler terms, if I have a calm and gentle nature, my resemblance is more similar to plants. On the other hand, if I am competitive and ambitious, my resemblance is more similar to animals. If I am more disciplined and rules-oriented, with little emotional involvement, then my resemblance is more similar to minerals.

In fact, every substance in nature has a spirit. This gives us an idea of how we can progress on our journey to healing. Examples will make this clearer:

  • Sepia officinalis: Prepared from the dried ink found in the ink sac of a squid. Squids, with their large eyes and calm bodies, represent this substance. They tend to have a soft and relaxed temperament, being overly sensitive to all impressions, excessively anxious, and worrisome. It is considered a remedy for women, and its usage is more common in female ailments.
  • Nux Vomica: Obtained from a tree native to China, East India, Thailand, and Australia, known as "Poison Nut." When consumed raw, it is toxic. However, after undergoing various homeopathic processes, the medicine becomes non-toxic and can be safely used from infants to the elderly. Those in need of Nux Vomica are competitive, determined, irritable, and intolerant of others' faults. Eventually, nervous exhaustion leads to sleep difficulties and sensitivity to odors, light, and noise. Their pains are often in the form of cramps and worsen with sedentary habits. Those needing Nux Vomica are also prone to excessive indulgence in work, food, coffee, stimulants, and alcohol.
  • Phosphorus: This homeopathic remedy is prepared from the powdered red amorphous phosphorus. The grinding process helps extract the medicinal properties of red amorphous phosphorus. Phosphorus is particularly suitable for tall, slender individuals with a narrow chest. They often have fair skin, yellow or red hair, and delicate eyelashes. Among them, nervousness and sensitivity are prominent. They are also characterized by rapid growth and a tendency to develop curvature of the spine. Additionally, it is suitable for people with a tendency to bleed.

Our temperament and diseases are reflected in nature as well. If we can interpret these reflections correctly, we can find the cure.
