Menstruation, also known as menstruation among the people, is a physiological event that occurs due to hormonal oscillations. Menstruation, which is experienced every 28 days, is the situation where the egg, which is the female reproductive cell, is ejected with some blood in case of maturation and not fertilization. In this process, which starts in adolescence and continues until the menopause period, the eggs are renewed regularly. The regularity of this physiological process is an indication that the person's reproductive system is healthy and that the body is preparing itself for pregnancy. The menstrual period, which occurs every 28 days, lasts between 3 and 7 days. Although it varies from person to person, menstrual pain is seen before menstruation starts and may continue to be seen in the first two days of the menstrual period.

What causes menstrual cramps?

Menstrual pain is a condition that most women experience during menstruation. Menstrual pain is sometimes mild, but sometimes it can be very severe. The reason for this pain is that the uterine wall, which will enable the embryo to attach and develop in case of fertilization, is expelled by the body as a result of lack of fertilization. The uterus is a muscle tissue. In the absence of fertilization, this muscle tissue contracts to expel the structure surrounding the uterine wall. Some hormones also help with contraction. One of these hormones, prostaglandin, plays a role in regulating the amount of bleeding in menstruation. Imbalances in prostaglandins trigger menstrual cramps. This causes the uterus to be strained and there is a decrease in the blood going to the uterus, as a result of which menstrual pain occurs.

What is good for menstrual pain?

The pains that occur during this period may differ according to the person's body. Interventions to be made without knowing the cause of the pain may have unexpected results. For this reason, a doctor should be seen first and the source of the pain should be clarified. If the result of the doctor's examination is not caused by inflammation or a different health condition, pain relievers can be used on the advice of the doctor. However, these drugs can cause interruptions in menstrual bleeding. Therefore, care must be taken in its use. It is possible to reduce pain with simple methods for those who want to get over it without using drugs.

These;
