Vaginismus is a type of sexual function problem that can be seen in many women. This problem, which is encountered in almost one out of every 10 women in Turkey, is not obvious at first, but it can become irritating in the future.

There is no definite and clear medical information about the emergence of vaginismus disease. However, it is generally stated that the causes of vaginismus are based on psychological problems. Situations such as abuse, rape that the woman has experienced in childhood or adulthood, or fears and concerns about sexual intercourse can be a reason for the formation of this disease.

What Are the Symptoms of Vaginismus?

Vaginismus disease can occur in different ways in every woman. The general symptoms of vaginismus are; Fear of sexuality, painful sexuality, inability to open the legs, the inability of the penis to enter the vagina and fear of the gynecologist.

Is it possible to treat vaginismus disease?

Vaginismus is a disease that can be treated. In the treatment process, which works quite simply, a treatment method is usually carried out by focusing on the complaints of women. The most important treatment methods of this disease are vaginismus exercises.
