Anorexia is a disease that usually occurs in women during the transition period from childhood to adolescence, resulting from an irregular diet. Anorexia Nervosa is unnecessary weight loss, which we can also describe as a physical disorder. Although it is a psychological disease, it is more likely to be seen in individuals who are obsessed with their weight. The reason for this is that they see their weight as excessive and as a result they create diet lists that are not right for them, and they want to see themselves at a weight below the required mass index. Anorexia Nervosa causes loss of appetite over time and a decrease in body resistance.

What Are the Symptoms of Anorexia Nervosa?

The most important symptom of anorexia is that it causes a physical disorder. It is the avoidance of the desire to eat, the avoidance of all foods containing carbohydrates. Sudden weight loss is the fact that the body resistance is lower than it should be. The desire to be weighed constantly, the inability to reveal their true weight to anyone other than themselves, the constant choice of clothes that are worn, is what this disease creates on the person. If they are forced to feed, they will immediately want to vomit what they have eaten. Anorexia Nervosa also causes behavioral disorders.

What Causes Anorexia Nervosa?

There is no exact cause of this disease, which is encountered during the transition from childhood to adolescence. It is a disease that occurs mostly due to dissatisfaction with their physical appearance and wanting to be much less than their weight. Anorexia can lead to death if the necessary interventions are not made.

What is the Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa?

Anorexia should be treated by experts in the disease. In this process, if the patient has lost 30% of his required weight, he should be treated by specialist physicians in a hospital environment. Regular weight monitoring and psychological control of the situation should be done. Family support is very important in this process. After the patient overcomes the situation, even if he reaches the required weight, he should be checked at regular intervals under the supervision of the hospital.
